Day #110
I got back on the boat yesterday... and I'm flying back to Iraq in about two
more hours. I'm heading to Nasiriyah to do some Casevac missions (Casualty
Evacuations). I can't begin to tell you how glorious that shower was!! It
looks like I'll be in Nasiriyah for a few days, then I'll be back aboard the
USS Tarawa for good - I hope. Our squadron is planning to operate off of
the boat as opposed to working with the entire Marine Air Group in the
desert. This is VERY good news!
I've attached a couple of photos. One is me and a fellow pilot hanging out
with the locals in Nasiriyah. The other is of me at the airfield in Jalibah.
I included this pic to prove the point that I'm holding my own with these
marines. In the picture you'll notice the nice abrasion to my forehead from
wrestling with these guys. If I can't earn their respect professionally,
then I'm more than willing to join their pugilistic ways!
I'll have plenty of stories to write when I'm back on the ship. As soon as I
have time, I'll update the Photo Gallery section of the website with my most
recent photos.
